1 (Saturday): Arrival
in Sofia-overnight at Rodina Hotel Sofia 4*

2 (Sunday): After
breakfast at the hotel visit Archeological Museum. Depart for
Plovdiv via Rila Mountains. Tour includes Rila Monastery, an
UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, an introduction to the
on going archeological work in the region by a local archeologist.

3 (Monday): After breakfast
at the Hotel we continue to the newly opened Starosel cult complex.
Then we are visiting the Roman spa town of Hisar and a Thracian
rock-cut sanctuary at Perperek. The trip continues to Stara
Zagora where we are visiting the well-preserved group of Neolithic
dwellings. The day ends in Kazanlak with overnight at Hotel
Zornitsa 3*, attending at Mystery at the Valley show. |

4 (Tuesday): After breakfast
we will examine some of the 1,500 of burial mounds in the area
known as the Valley of the Thracian Kings. We are visiting the
historical center of Veliko Tarnovo ending at Tsarevets Hotel
3* for overnight. |

5 (Wednesday): After
breakfast a spectacular drive to the coast takes us first to
Sveshtari and several outstanding Thracian tombs, the Horesman
of Madara, a bas-relief carved into a cliff. A tour highlight,

6 (Thursday): After breakfast
departure to the Bulgarian-Romanian border at Durankulak. |

7 (Friday): Mangalia
– Adamclisi - Constanta
In the afternoon drive towards Mangalia, an old Romanian town
once called Callatis and tour the city built in 6th century.
After a short visit to the caves incised with early Christian
drawings, drive to Adamclisi where visit the amazing trophy-statue,
Trophaeum Traiani. Lunch in Constanta followed by visit the
Archaeological Museum, then transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day
8 (Saturday): Constanta
– Histria – Iasi
After breakfast at hotel start the city tour of Constanta, a
former Greek colony, and visit the ruins of the ancient Tomis.
Continue the trip to Histria – the old town founded by Greek
colonists from Miletus. Drive to Iasi – the cultural capital
of Moldova and short walking city tour to admire the monuments
of medieval buildings along the main boulevard. Dinner and accommodation
at Moldova hotel 3*/Iasi. |

Day
9 (Sunday): Iasi
– Campulung Moldovenesc
After breakfast visit the History Museum in Iasi, then drive
through alpine landscapes and stop to visit Voronet, Humor and
Moldovita - three of the most representative painted monasteries
of Bucovina region. In the evening attend a private folklore
dinner with traditional music and dances. Accommodation at Zimbrul
Hotel 2*/ Campulung Moldovenesc. |

Day 10 (Monday): Campulung Moldovenesc-
Sic- Cluj Napoca
After
breakfast at the hotel leave behind Campulung Moldovenesc and
drive towards Sic, an ethnic Hungarian village renowned for
its well preserved traditions. Late lunch in Sic village. Continue
the trip to Cluj Napoca, the cultural capital of Transilvania
since medieval times. While in Cluj Napoca visit the Ethnographic
Museum and take a short walk to see the city center with its
imposing buildings constructed in baroque style, including the
old part of town where visit the ruins of the stronghold. Time
at leisure to explore the historical quarter of Cluj. Dinner
and accomodation at Transilvania Hotel 3*/Cluj. |

Day 11(Tuesday): Cluj Napoca-
Alba Iulia- Deva
After
breakfast at hotel depart for Alba Iulia, a historical town,
where in November 1, 1599 the union of the three Romanian provinces
was accomplished for the first time in history, by famous rule
Mihai the Brave. While in Alba Iulia have a comprehensive tour
of the town including visit to the impressive Orthodox Cathedral,
The National Museum of Unification- one of the oldest and richest
museums in Transilvania, which hosts pieces of historical, archaeological,
ethnographical interest. Lunch at Transilvania Restaurant in
Alba Iulia. In the evening continue the trip to Deva. Dinner
and accommodation at Deva Hotel 2*/Deva. |

Day 12 (Wednesday): Deva – Hunedoara
– Sibiu
After
breakfast at the hotel, depart for Hunedoara, where visit Hunedoara
Castle, the most important historical and architectural monument
in Transilvania, built as a military castle and transformed
in a residence during the reign of the Romanian ruler Iancu
de Hunedoara. The tour continues with the visit of Sarmisegetusa
Ulpia Traiana, capital of Roman Dacia between 107 and 271 AD,
where admire the remarkable amphitheater, the huge temple and
forum flanked by baths and a palace. After visiting Sarmisegetusa
Ulpia Traiana continue to drive towards Sibiu, an old cultural
center of Transilvania. Dinner and accommodation at Imparatul
Romanilor Hotel 3*/ Sibiu. |

Day 13 (Thursday): Sibiu-Bucharest
After
breakfast at hotel start the city tour in Sibiu including visit
to the Brukenthal Museum, the oldest art museum in the country
displaying mostly the private collections of governor Samuel
von Bruckenthal, who left through his will the house and the
artworks to be transformed into a museum. Continue with a short
walking tour through the town and discover the old center, including
visit to the Evangelical Cathedral and Old City Tower. Departure
for Bucharest via Curtea de Arges, where visit "Manole's
Monastery", architectural monument from 16th Century, and
also the Old Princery Court with its unique interior paintings.
After arrival in Bucharest check in at hotel. Overnight at Hilton

Day 14 (Friday): Full day city
tour in Bucharest
After
breakfast start the tour of the capital. During morning visit
the Arch of Triumph – the symbol of Bucharest, Herastrau Park
and Village Museum – the biggest open-air museum in the world
displaying Romanian traditional houses representative for different
parts of the country. The tour will continue with visit to the
National History Museum, Old Court, Metropolitan Church and
Parliament Palace, which is the second largest building in the
world after the American Pentagon. In the evening transfer to
a local restaurant and enjoy, during dinner, an unforgettable
show with Romanian traditional music and dances. Accommodation
at Hilton hotel 5*/ Bucharest. |

airport in Bucharest, where our local guide will drop off the
